Let's hope this remake of Sigaw doesn't suck. I never saw the first one, but I'll rent a copy and see if it really is worth the remake. I've yet to see a Filipino filmmaker that really knows how to sell suspense and atmosphere.

    you obviously haven't seen the filipino classics "itim" and "kisapmata" by the great mike de leon. and yes, yam laranas can sell suspense and atmosphere.

    if you measure them with today's standards then yes you could say that they are not impressive. but remember, those films were made in the '70s and early '80s. as far as filipino fillmaking goes, they were very sophisticated and well ahead of their time.
