"We Are Getting Aggravated..."

Ever get that feeling that you are surrounded by idiots? It's the little things that annoy me the most. People who stand in the street to wait for a jeep instead of the curb. People who don't read instructions and then ask you a question that was quite plainly explained in said document. People who jump to the front of a group of people standing front to back, and then look at you like you're crazy when you tell them there's a line. People who see you hold your hand out for your change, then proceed to place the money directly beneath it on the counter.

If you've seen Transformers the Movie (the original cartoon, NOT the Bay version), then you probably remember these lyrics from N.R.G:
Iron birds of fortune
Adrift above the skies
Cloudy revelations
Unseen by naked eyes
Flying tools of torment
Will penetrate the sphere
Erupt the rock of ages
Bringing final fear
Thorbuster Iron Man

Back when I collected comics, I preferred X-men, or the Hulk to Iron Man books. I only really started noticing him after I had stopped, around the time Olivier Coipel began drawing the Avengers "Red Zone" story arc. I wasn't buying comics on a regular basis, but Coipel's art was gorgeous enough to grab my attention and the story was one of those that made you believe that these guys were HEROES.
Marvel Legends Age of Apocalypse Sunfire

There are a few comic arcs that I really loved when I was still collecting. One of those was the Age of Apocalypse. If you're not familiar with the story, it's basically about Xavier's son traveling into the past to kill his father's archenemy; he believes that Magneto's death will ensure that his father's dream comes true. He screws this up and kills Xavier allowing Apocalypse to rise to power and re-make the Earth.
The story is dark. Lots of characters are dead, many are unrecognizable, and some are disfigured. The Sunfire character is one of those. In a battle against one of Apocalypse's minions, Nemesis, Sunfire cut loose in a blast that left both of them burned husks. Sunfire was fitted with suit to contain his raging energies and hide his disfigured face.
2009 Christmas Toyfair

Very very late pics from the December 2009 Christmas Toyfair. Didn't have my digital cam with me, so it's all on super grainy film with lots of camera shake for all of you. Consider it a bargain.
Figma Kanu Unchou

Most of my collection is centered on Robots and Superheroes, but I will pick up the occasional piece if it looks nice (i.e.: it's a half nekkid female). Most of my anime figures are from the Fraulein Revoltech line, mostly because they're near the scale of Marvel Legends and have a good amount of articulation. I had heard that Max Factory was making a competing line called Figma, and decided to try one out.
Nemesis Prime

So, if you've read my Classics Optimus Prime review (here),then you know that the Classics version of Optimus is my favorite version of the immortal Autobot leader. While it doesn't have the size, the diecast parts or the bells and whistles of the Masterpeice version, the design just looks alot more modern. Plus, at the MP01's scale, you know you're never going to have the rest of the Autobots, and what is Prime without his team?
So anyway, when I saw this baby at a severely discounted price (only P1,000.00, about $20) at the Christmas Toyfair, I just had to have him. From my trips to Greenhills last year, he was from about 1.8k to 2.5k, depending on the store you found him in. If you go to Greenhills now, you might still find him in some of the specialty shops at a similar discount.
Transformers Universe Hound

Hound is one of those really great Transformers that was always a favorite among my friends as a kid. In the first episodes of the TV Series, it was Hound who hung around with Spike (before they paired him up with Bumblebee), and I also remember them pairing him up with Cliffjumper early on. He was this cool out-doorsy guy who was the face of the Autobots in the earlier episodes.
I also used to have the first G1 toy (lost to the bane of 80's toy collectors; mother's yard sales). Like alot of the regular sized toys, Hound was heavy metal, with diecast up the wazoo. He also had great accessories that echoed the TV Series,a rifle and a shoulder mounted holo-projector. The same one he used to help Wheeljack and Ratchet make the Dinobots!
Ironman Movie Ironmonger (Open Cockpit)

The Iron Man movie line didn't really wow me. The figure I like most from it is one that wasn't even in the film (Titanium Man). The articulation is lacking, the sculpts have little nagging things that bug me,and the paint is just really bad (not to mention it tends to wash out after some time).
Still, I thought that the Iron Monger toy was pretty cool, mostly due to it's size. It's a little smaller than the Hulkbuster from Toy Biz days, but it was still a hefty toy.
Scout Class Arcee

Repaint happy Hasbro seems to love this mold.
It wasn't enough that they repainted the original Scout Class Energon Arcee Blue in the Transformers Movie line, they had to do it again in the same year, in the same line with Elita One. Corporate money grubbing? Maybe. I prefer to think that Hasbro recognized a good thing when they saw it and decided to make the most of it.
